Use the tool below. Your inputs stay local when the tool supports browser-only processing.

All tools

Your files stay in this browser tab. Images are decoded and converted locally; this tool does not upload them or save them in browser storage. Ordinary site analytics may still load, but image contents and filenames are not sent by this tool.

Application guardrails for reliability: 20 files, 15 MiB per file, 50 MiB total, 16 megapixels per image, 64 megapixels total and 16,384 pixels per side. These are choices for this tool, not universal browser or device limits. Smaller batches may still be needed on limited devices.

    PDF settings

One image per page, centered and fitted without cropping or stretching. Photo orientation is applied during decoding. Transparency sits on a white page. Images are re-encoded, so original metadata is omitted and JPEG quality may change. This creates an image-only PDF, with no OCR or searchable text.

How to use the Image to PDF

    1

    Choose local images

Add still JPEG or PNG files. The tool checks file sizes and image dimensions before creating local previews.

    2

    Arrange and fit pages

Use Up and Down to set page order. Choose A4 or US Letter, automatic or fixed orientation, and a margin in millimeters.

    3

    Create and check the PDF

Create the PDF locally and download it. Check the page order and orientation before submitting; clear the images when finished.

    How this tool works

The tool reads local file bytes, checks signatures and dimensions, creates small local previews and processes images sequentially. Canvas applies image orientation and re-encodes pixels; pdf-lib places each image on a white PDF page. Fit scale = min(usable page width / image width, usable page height / image height), with the result centered. Blob URLs are released when images or results are removed, replaced or the component is closed.

    • Engine: Local image signature checks, createImageBitmap, Canvas and the bundled pdf-lib library
    • Supported input: still JPEG images, still PNG images including transparency
    • Output: one image-only PDF with one image per page, A4 or US Letter; portrait, landscape or automatic per-image orientation
    Input
    1200 × 800 image on a portrait US Letter page (612 × 792 points), 12.7 mm margins (36 points)
    Output
Image fits to 540 × 360 points at x=36 and y=216 without cropping or stretching.

    Limits, edge cases, and troubleshooting

Combine photographed assignment pages in a chosen order. Inspect previews and the final download; no image content or filename is sent by the conversion code.

    • Application guardrails: 20 files, 15 MiB each, 50 MiB total, 16 megapixels each, 64 megapixels total and 16,384 pixels per side.
    • These are conservative application choices for reliability, not universal browser or device limits. A smaller batch may still be necessary.
    • No HEIC, WebP, SVG, GIF or animated PNG input; convert to a still JPEG or PNG first.
    • No OCR, searchable text, PDF editing, encryption or guaranteed file-size reduction.
    • Images are re-encoded to apply orientation and omit original metadata; JPEG quality and color profiles may change.

    When to use another workflow

Use a trusted desktop scanner or PDF application for OCR, very large batches, archival color management or accessibility tagging.

    Verification

Implementation checked on 2026-09-16. Local browser checks covered JPEG photo orientation, transparent PNG, page ordering, removal, invalid images, oversized dimensions and impossible margins. Downloaded PDFs were parsed and visually inspected. Conversion also worked offline after app code was loaded; synthetic filename and metadata markers were absent from outgoing requests. Unit tests cover layout arithmetic and application guardrails.

Image to PDF — Frequently Asked Questions

    Are my images uploaded?

No. File reading, image decoding, previews and PDF generation run in this browser tab. This tool does not send filenames or image contents or save them in browser storage; ordinary site analytics may still load.

What are the supported formats and limits?

Still JPEG and PNG are supported. The application's reliability guardrails are 20 files, 15 MiB per file, 50 MiB total, 16 megapixels per image, 64 megapixels total and 16,384 pixels per side. These are not universal browser limits, and smaller batches may be needed on some devices.

Does the PDF contain searchable text?

No. It contains one fitted image per page without OCR. Images are re-encoded and their original metadata is omitted, so JPEG quality and color appearance may differ from the original.
